Belt bags are everywhere and I'm here for the trend! I recognize this cute fashionable statement accessory as a blast from the past also know as a pouch or fanny pack. I have a lot of sherpa material left over from a previous DIY. I thought this project would be perfect for using my leftover material and creating something stylish. I grabbed a blank canvas belt bag from the craft store and got to work. This was such an easy and quick transformation. Take a look at how this sherpa belt bag was made below!

Materials:
Sherpa Material
Blank Canvas Belt Bag
Hot Glue Gun and Glue Sticks
Step 1: Gather a blank canvas belt bag, scissors, sherpa material and glue.
Step 2: Cut a smaller piece of material from the large fabric to start covering the front of the bag.
Step 3: Fold over and glue the seams of the side of the material that will get glued to the bag first.
Step 4: Line the edge of the folded sherpa material with the edge under the zipper of the bag.
Step 5: Adhere the material to the bag starting with the edges.
Step 6: Cut the material as needed to cover the entire front of the bag. Adhere all the edges of the material and add glue to adhere the middle of the fabric as well. Make sure all the sherpa material covers the front of the bag except the zipper.
Step 7: Turn the bag over and complete the same above process on the back.
The end result is a contemporary accessory to compliment any outfit. I love how it turned out! I truly looks like it could be a high end designer belt bag. I could also see this with patches on it as well. Try it out! Come say hi and tag me @Craftingwithcass on Instagram if you decide to create your own!
