I'm sharing four DIY projects to elevate dollar store items into luxurious-looking Christmas decorations. I'll be making etched monogram wine glasses, mixed metal metallic tins, potpourri-filled ornaments, and a wavy chrome bowl. Potpourri Ornaments
Materials
Clear Plastic Ornaments
Potpourri
Velvet Ribbon
Scissors
Step 1: Gather clear plastic ornaments, velvet ribbon, potpourri and some scissors.
Step 2: Fill the clear ornaments with potpourri.
Step 3: Cut and tie velvet ribbon to use as the hook for the ornament.
Etched Monogram Wine Glasses
Materials:
Etching Cream
Wine Glasses
Adhesive Stencils
Paint Brush
Step 1: Purchase some wine glasses from the dollar store.
Step 2: Round up clear wine glasses, etching cream, adhesive stencils, and a paint brush.
Step 3: Place a stencil on the glass and dab on some etching cream within the stencil. Follow the instructions on the bottle for applying and removing the cream.
Step 4: Complete the same steps for each letter of the initial.
Chrome Wavy Bowl
Materials
Plastic Wavy Bowl
White Acrylic Paint
Paint Brush
Silver Metallic Spray Paint
Step 1: Collect the mentioned materials.
Step 2: Paint the inside and outside of the bowl using white acrylic paint. Allow the paint to dry.
Step 3: Spray silver metallic spray paint to cover the entire top and bottom of the bowl.
Mixed Metallic Tins
Materials:
Tins
Metallic Spray Paint
Step 1: Spray paint the top of the tin lids with silver metallic spray paint.
Step 2: Coat the bottom of the exterior of the tins using gold metallic spray paint.
